Are you gardening when...

Each day in Ireland brings interesting, historic and fun experiences. Yesterday, Larry and I traveled to Kilkenny by train, arriving early with an after-dinner departure. The garden behind The Rothe House was unexpected, a dark horse. Who would have anticipated it to be any more than the many other manicured, formal gardens we've seen behind old houses? (Think Colonial Williamsburg, Boston, Asheville, the list goes on.)

As we enjoyed the peace, the fragrance, the buzz of bees, and the coo of doves, I wondered, "Are you gardening when you're sitting in its midst?" I say yes.

Wish you were here.
